Across from the famous Mullaloo Beach Hotel is of course the magnificent Mullaloo Beach.
Autumn has set upon Perth, the beaches are becoming more scarce of scorched bodies and the swell has picked up. However the weather is still warm and beautiful. In saying that it is still quite a wonderful time of the year and the Indian Ocean is still warm enough to go swimming in. Although it might mostly be tourists at this time of the year who will be braving the cooler currents of the Indian Ocean.
Mullaloo Beach is wonderful for Barbecues and picnics as well. The large open green grass is the perfect spot. There is also a playground for the little ones to play in.
As for the beach itself? Mullaloo Beach is large and plentiful. You can rest assured that the Mullaloo Surf Life Saving Club will be there to look after you should anything go pair shaped, besides your bottom.
Tourists do beware though as Snakes are in the area. So if you walk in the sand be sure to ware bullet proof trousers because that’s what you are going to need should you attempt to survive by being bitten by one of these killers. Or, you could just wear shorts and thongs like everybody else. It’s entirely up to you.
There are plenty of options for beer. Just cross the street and you’re there. Be careful though as Mullaloo Beach is trying very hard to catch up to Scarborough Beach in terms of Riots.
With that said and done Mullaloo Beach should still be a place of interest when you schedule your holiday to Perth. Be sure to bring your favourite beach towel, sunscreen, and Esky.
Let the Good Time Roll!

Perth Tourism bustles during the Summer. However with the Autumn’s arrival you shouldn’t be put off by not taking advantage of the sunny but cooler fine Autumn weather. Here is a suggestion for the typical first time Perth Tourist.
The Weekend Warrior
If your stay in Perth is going to be short and sweet here is the Perth Beaches Weekend Warrior Holiday
Day 1. Rottnest Island or Rotto is a must see for any Perth Tourist visiting these shores. Rottnest Island boasts some of the finest snorkeling and diving that Perth has to offer. How do I get there? Take the Rottest Fairy. The Rottnest Fairy departs from either Fremantle or Hillarys Boat Harbor. Since you are only here for the weekend the day trip is recommended. If you are fortunate enough to stay longer Perth Beaches recommends at least a one night stay on Rotto. Accommodation is available to suit your needs.
While the weather cools down slightly in Autumn you still might want to bring a Spring Wetsuit if you plan on doing any snorkeling or perhaps any swimming.
After your 1 day trip to Rottnest Island be sure to stop at one of the fine Fish & Chip Restaurants in Fremantle. Perhaps you opted to take the Rottnest Fairy from Hillarys? If so, then a nice dinner is recommended at Hillarys Boat Harbor upon your arrival back from Rottnest.
Day 2. Pick your beach. To sample the Perth lifestyle in only 2 days is quite a challenge. No trip to Perth isn’t complete without a day or at least half a day of leisure at one of the many fine local beaches.
If you are in to the party scene then a day at Scarborough is for you. Slip, Slop, and Slap that beer to your hand and chug it down.
If the family scene is more your cup of tea then try City Beach. City Beach is perfect for the whole family. It’s quite, serene and well away from the local pubs and party people. If you have little ones be sure to keep a close eye on them as the break at City Beach can be quite powerful at times. As always make sure to swim in between the flags.
